services like education, healthcare, and renewable, sustainable energy
development.
Join Us! Mother's Day is a day for us to be in
action together. Help us stand
firmly in solidarity with women across the world
in declaring "Arise,
all women who have hearts! ... The sword of murder
is not the balance of justice."

CODEPINK's updated cookbook for yourself.
Consider giving gift copies to the mothers and
other sister activists in your life who could
use some nourishing encouragement in creating
a culture of peace.

Some Ideas to Inspire Your Local Organizing
- Host a movie screening
- Have a peace picnic in the park
- You can spell out PEACE in the grass with
your bodies.
- Have a Mother's Day Tea
- Have a Bake Sale to help fund local needs.
- Inspired by the statement "It will
be a great day when schools have all the money
they need and the air force has to hold a
bake sale to buy a bomber," have a bake
sale.
- Use a pie to visualize the federal discretionary
budget - let people know Obama wants 56% for
war funding, yet claims to be searching for
every last dime of wasteful spending. Encourage
people to ditch the war pie for a more nourishing
peace pie.
- Use recipes
from our cookbook.
- Organize a Pink-In for Peace
- Mothers March or spirited Peace Stroll
- Or hold a rally.
- Protest outside a recruiting station or
government building.
- Do a banner drop over a freeway or public
area.
- Demonstrate and flyer outside a popular
Mother's Day brunch or dinner restaurant.
- Remind people of the real origins of
Mother's Day by dressing up as Julia Ward
Howe and handing out her Proclamation and our modern interpetation.
